A UH-60 Black Hawk medical evacuation helicopter lands in Ghanzi province July 23. The "hot LZ" – a landing zone where an enemy attack might happen – is protected by U.S. Army paratroopers. The soldiers are assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team, and the helicopter crew is assigned to the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. There apparently was no enemy fire. That might have had something to do with the fact that the chopper landed to rescue a wounded insurgent.
