Sun Never Sets? The U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge anchored off the coast of Cambodia earlier this month.

It’s the biggest sea battle since Midway – or at least the Falklands. There’s gonna be a lot of garbage flung around about military matters in the presidential campaign. That’s what happens when you end up with a pair of non-vets running, each trying to groom military chest hair for key battleground states – Florida, North Carolina and Texas among them -– where vet votes could prove decisive.

For instance, while GOP challenger Mitt Romney bemoans the fact that our Navy hasn’t been this puny since World War I, President Obama’s Navy chief declares it “the strongest Navy in the world.” Over at CNN’s Security Clearance blog, Larry Shaughnessy swabs the deck, separating fact from fiction.
