Firefighting foam covers the scene Sunday of Friday’s F-18 crash into an apartment complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The two-member crew, taking off on a training flight from nearby Oceana Naval Air Station, was forced to bail out shortly after takeoff, reportedly due to a mechanical malfunction. The crew – and several people on the ground – were injured, but amazingly there were no fatalities reported in the crash and ensuing conflagration, which damaged or destroyed 40 apartments.
