When Battleland thinks of an Air Force-related rock group, Jefferson Airplane for some reason springs to mind. But today’s Air Force isn’t relying on some psychedelic 1960s’-era band for its cred. Instead, it’s counting on Max Impact, made up of Air Force non-commissioned officers.
Granted, it’s not the Air Force Strings we’ve had the pleasure of listening to at the chief of staff’s place on Generals’ Row at Fort Myer, but Max Impact is actually pretty good. Of course, a little professional help from Air Force Television didn’t hurt. Soon enough, the band will probably even end up on the service’s official list of fuddy-duddy bands.
