The Pentagon wants to build a new front door for itself for folks, like Battleland, who usually arrive via the capital’s once-great Metro subway system. Estimated cost, given the security requirements of the “Pentagon Sentry Program,” the need for a dedicated employee entrance, and a gatehouse: between $5 million and $10 million.

Contractors are warned they can’t just drive up to The Building for the planned site visit next month. “There is no parking at the Pentagon,” the solicitation notes. “Offerors can take the Metro to Pentagon Station or park in the Pentagon City/Macy’s parking garage and walk thru the tunnel under 395 to the Pentagon.” Leslie Groves would not be pleased.
