The Army Corps of Engineers turns over new terminals at Shindand air base to the Air Force

The Army Corps of Engineers has just finished building new terminals at Afghanistan’s Shindand air base for $18 million. “This facility will play an important role as the coalition begins to move equipment and personnel out of theater,” said Air Force Colonel John Hokaj, the base commander.

“The old passenger terminal on this airbase is a small tent, next to the tower,” added corps commander, Air Force Colonel Ben Wham. “The service members who will fly out of this excellent, modern and well-constructed building will thank all the members of the team who made this facility a reality.”
