Warbirds: Dark or Light?

There is a rough correlation between the number of U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the number of turkeys sent there annually to help them celebrate Thanksgiving. Your Battleland math whiz has stuffed data provided by the Defense Logistics Agency’s troop support folks into his abacus to generate this chart and can safely report: the number of whole turkeys in-bound to the war zones has fallen 57% since 2009.

Over the same two years, the number of U.S. troops in both theaters has dropped from about 175,000 to 115,000. That’s a decline of only 34%. This is bad news for the troops: even as your numbers decline, fewer of you will be getting drumsticks.
